Ingredients
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp. milk
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
Instructions
  1. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla all together.
  2. Add egg. Beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in milk.
  4. Stir in sifted dry ingredients. Blend well.
  5. Divide dough in half. Chill 1 hour or more.
  6. Roll dough on floured board to about ⅛ inch thickness.
  7. Cut to desired shape.
  8. Bake on cookie sheet, in a 375 degree oven, for 8 minutes.
  9. ICING:
  10. c. sifted confectioner's sugar
  11. /4 c. milk
  12. /2 tsp. vanilla
  13. Dash of salt
  14. Combine all ingredients and mix well.
  15. Add food coloring if desired.

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Place rounded tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
  3. Bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes.

Ingredients
  • 1½ lb. firm scaled fish fillets
  • ¼ c. flour3 tbsp. butter
  • 3 tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp. blackened fish seasoning
Instructions
  1. Lightly dust the fillets with flour.
  2. Heat the butter and oil in a large, heavy frying pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the flour-covered fillets and cook 3 minutes on one side, turn, and sprinkle seasonings evenly over the browned side.
  4. Cook another 3 minutes and turn, sprinkling this side with seasonings.
  5. Turn the heat to high and sear each side for about 2 minutes.

Ingredients
  • ½ c. salad oil
  • 1 med. garlic clove
  • 5 lbs. beef stew meat cut in 1 inch squares
  • 4 med. onions, sliced
  • 3 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
  • 2½ c. water
  • 1 tbsp. paprika
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 (8 oz.) pkg. bow tie macaroni
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. minced parsley
  • 1 tbsp. grated lemon peel
  • ½ tsp. caraway seed
Instructions
  1. In 8 quart Dutch oven over medium high heat, in hot salad oil, cook garlic clove 1 minute, discard.
  2. Add stew meat and onions; cook, stirring occasionally until meat is lightly browned.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, water, paprika, salt, pepper and bay leaf; heat to boiling.
  4. Reduce heat to low; cover, simmer 2 hours or until meat is fork tender, stirring often.
  5. About 30 minutes before meat is done, prepare macaroni according to label directions.
  6. Drain and toss gently with butter and parsley.

  • 3 to 4 lg. potatoes, peeled and grated
  • ¼ c. minced onion
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • ⅓ tsp. baking powder
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 egg whites, beaten until stiff
Instructions
  1. Mix above ingredients in order given.
  2. Fold in egg white to batter.
  3. Fry mixture in oil about an inch deep.
  4. Drop batter from teaspoon.
  5. Fry to golden brown on both sides.

Ingredients
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup, condensed
  • 1½ pounds ground beef, lean
  • ½ cup dry bread crumbs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ⅓ cup water
Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 350 F.
  2. In medium bowl, combine ¼ of the soup with remaining ingredients except water; mix well.
  3. Shape into 6 patties; arrange in single layer in 13 x 9-inch or 12 x8-inch baking dish.
  4. Bake uncovered at 350 F. for 30 minutes.
  5. Skim off fat. In small bowl, combine remaining soup and water; spoon over patties.
  6. Return to oven and bake for 10 minutes.

  • 1 lb. cream style corn
  • 1 c. Bisquick
  • 1 egg
  • ½ c. milk
  • 1 can green chilies
  • ½ lb. Monterey Jack cheese
Instructions
  1. Mix together and pour ½ in bottom of 8 x 8 pan (greased).
  2. Sprinkle drained chilies and cut up cheese over corn and pour remaining.
  3. Butter the top. Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

  • 1½ c. cornmeal
  • ½ c. flour
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tbsp. baking soda
  • 1½ tbsp. dehydrated onion flakes
  • ¼ cc cultured buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch of finely chopped dill
  • water
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Spoon into a 375 degree hot oil pot, until they float and are a golden brown.
  3. For a more crunchy effect cook until dark brown.

  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 9 lg. eggs, slightly beaten
  • ¾ c. milk
  • ¼ c. melted butter
  • 24 oz. pkg. hash browns
  • 8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Layer sausage on bottom of well greased 9"x13" pan.
  3. Add milk and butter to beaten eggs and pour over sausage.
  4. Add hash browns and top with shredded cheese.
  5. Bake 1 hour.

Ingredients
  • 2 c. Bisquick
  • ⅔ c. milk
  • ½ c. grated cheddar cheese
  • ½ c. melted butter
  • ¼ tsp. garlic salt
Instructions
  1. Mix Bisquick, milk and cheddar until a soft ball forms.
  2. Beat vigorously for 30 seconds.
  3. Drop by balls onto an ungreased baking sheet and bake at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Mix butter and garlic and brush on rolls while still on the pan and hot.

 

Linguine with White Clam Sauce

  • 1 lb. linguine, cooked and drained
  • ½ c. olive oil
  • 1 c. onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cans clams, minced, with liquid
  • ½ c. white wine
  • 1 tbsp. parsley flakes
  • ½ tsp. oregano
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • ½ tsp. sweet basil
Instructions
  1. Heat oil in skillet and simmer with onion and garlic until golden.
  2. Add clams, wine and seasonings, and simmer 5 minutes.
  3. Pour sauce over cooked and drained linguine.

 

7-Up Punch

  • 2 qts. water
  • 1 sm. pkg. lime jell-o
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 qt. pineapple juice
  • 1 qt. 7-Up
Instructions
  1. Disolve sugar and jell-o in 2 C. boiling water.
  2. Add remaining water and juices.
  3. Add 7-Up just before serving.
