Ingredients
  • 1 Can re-fried beans
  • 1 pk. taco seasoning
  • 1 pt. sour cream
  • 1 pt. guacamole
  • C. green olives, diced
  • C. green onions, diced
  • C. black olives, diced
  • 2 C. grated cheddar cheese
Instructions
  1. Mix re-fried beans and taco seasoning and spread on bottom of a casserole dish.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix sour cream and guacamole and layer on top of beans.
  3. Layer remaining ingredients in casserole dish and top with the shredded cheese.
  4. Let stand in refrigerator before serving.

Ingredients
  • Pork chops, Browned
  • 1 Can cream of mushroom soup
  • Potatoes
  • Carrots
  • Onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Make a layer of potatoes, carrots and onions in the bottom of a casserole dish and cover with half of the soup.
  2. Make a second layer of potatoes, carrots and onions and cover with remaining soup.
  3. Place browned pork chops on top and cove the dish with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake at 250 for 2 hours removing foil for the last 10 minutes.

Ingredients
  • 1 C. Shortening
  • 2 C. Sugar
  • 2 C. Warm applesauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 C. Raisins
  • 1 C. Nuts
  • tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in ½ C. warm water
  • 4 C. flour
  • 1 ½ tsp Cinnamon
  • tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
Instructions
  1. Sift dry ingredients together and add remaining ingredients to make a cake batter.
  2. Place in greased cake pans and bake at 350 for 1 hour.

 

Cream Puffs

Ingredients
  • C. water
  • C. margarine
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
  • C. flour
  • 2 eggs
Instructions
  1. Bring water, salt and margarine to a boil and stir in flour until mixture forms a compact ball.
  2. Remove from heat and continue mixing to cool slightly – about 2 minutes.
  3. Add eggs one at a time beating thoroughly after each egg is added.
  4. Mixture should have a satin like sheen. Drop batter 2 inches apart on an ungreased pan.
  5. Bake at 375 until brown and puffed (about 20 minutes).
  6. Remove from oven and immediately poke 1-2 slits on each side of the puffs.
  7. Return to oven for an additional 5 minutes. Fill with cream pudding.

 

Crab Salad

Ingredients
  • 1 loaf of sandwich bread
  • 8 eggs, hard boiled
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 C. Celery, diced
  • 1 lb. imitation crab meat
  • 1 can shrimp
  • 2 ½ C. miracle whip or mayonnaise
  • Squeeze of lemon
Instructions
  1. Cut off crust from the bread and cube.
  2. Mix bread, eggs and onions and let stand overnight if possible.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and serve.

Ingredients
  • 2 pkg. biscuits
  • 2/4 C. Sugar
  • C. butter, melted
  • 1 orange rind, grated fine
  • Juice from 1 orange
Instructions
  1. Combine melted butter, sugar, orange rind and orange juice together.
  2. Place biscuits in a Bundt pan and pour orange mixture over the dough.
  3. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Immediately turn out biscuits onto a plate after they have been removed from the oven.

 

Clam Chowder

Ingredients
  • 1 C. Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 C. Celery, finely chopped
  • 2 C. Potatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 cans minced clams and juice
  • C. butter
  • C. flour
  • 1 qt. half and half cream
  • 1 ½ Tsp. Salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp. sugar
Instructions
  1. Drain juice from clams and pour over the vegetables in a very small saucepan.
  2. Add just enough water to cover the vegetables and cover the pan.
  3. Simmer over medium heat until barely tender.
  4. In a separate saucepan, melt the butter and add flour and cream and cook and stir until smooth and thick.
  5. Add the un-drained vegetables, clams and salt and pepper and continue to cook until clams are done.

  • 1 can pink salmon
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbs. lemon juice
  • C. soda cracker crumbs
  • C. milk
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients and place in a greased loaf pan.
  2. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes to an hour covering for the first half.
  3. This recipe can also be made into patties by rolling in cracker crumbs and frying in pan with oil or grease.

  • 2 ½ C. sugar
  • 1 C. water
  • 4 sticks of butter
  • C. light corn syrup
  • 2-3 C. of nuts (Any type you prefer)
Instructions
  1. Put half of the nuts on an unbuttered cookie sheet.
  2. Cook the first four ingredients over medium heat until golden brown in a large pan.
  3. Pour mixture over nuts on cookie sheet and sprinkle with remaining nuts.
  4. Let cool and break into pieces.

  • 2 C. white sugar
  • 1 ½ C. Oil
  • C. Brown Sugar
  • 1 can crushed pineapple with juice
  • 3 C. sifted flower
  • 3 Eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • tsp. salt
  • 2 C. Grated raw carrots
  • 1 C. Raisins
  • 1 C. nuts
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
  1. Cream together sugar and oil.
  2. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each.
  3. Add pineapple with juice.
  4. Sift flour and dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Add all other ingredients.
  5. Pour into a well greased pan and bake at 325 for 70 minutes.

  • 6 qt. popped corn
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1C. white corn syrup
  • 1 pkg. gelatin any flavor
Instructions
  1. Combine syrup and sugar and gelatin while stirring.
  2. Bring mixture to a boil and pour over popped corn.
  3. Shape into balls.

Ingredients
  • 3 slices bacon
  • 1 C. chopped onion
  • C. chopped green pepper
  • 1 clove garlic chopped
  • 2 C. tomatoes canned
  • 1 ½ C. water
  • C. raw rice regular
  • tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tbs. brown sugar
  • 1 bouillon cube
  • 1 tbs. Worchester sauce
  • tsp. thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
Instructions
  1. Fry bacon pour off drippings but about 3 tbs. take bacon out brown onions, pepper and garlic.
  2. Add other ingredients.
  3. Crumble bacon into small bits and add to pan.
  4. Cover with tight lid and simmer 45 min. makes 6-8 servings.

Ingredients
  • ¾ C. shortening
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • ½ C. granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ C. water
  • 1 C. raisins
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 C. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 3 cups oats
Instructions
  1. Place shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla in small mixing bowl, beat thoroughly.
  2. Sift together flour, salt, and soda, add to shortening.
  3. Mix in oats last.
  4. Drop by tsp. on greased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
  5. Yield is about 15 dozen.

Ingredients
  • 4 lg. egg whites
  • 1½ tsp. vanilla
  • ⅔ c. sugar
  • ¼ c. all purpose flour
  • 3½ c. lightly packed sweetened coconut
Instructions
  1. Beat egg whites with a mixer until frothy and add vanilla, sugar and flour until smooth.
  2. Stir in coconut until evenly moistened.
  3. Using a small ice cream scoop (about ¼ C.) place balls of dough on a lightly greased cookie sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes.

Ingredients
  • 5 oz. water chestnuts, drained
  • ¼ c. soy sauce
  • 4 slices bacon, each cut in half crosswise and lengthways.
Instructions
  1. Marinate water chestnuts in soy sauce for 30 minutes.
  2. Roll each chestnut in sugar, then wrap with a strip of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  3. Arrange on a cooling rack that is placed on a cookie sheet to catch excess grease from the bacon.
  4. Bake in oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
