Ingredients
  • ¼ c. sugar
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • BREAD: 1¾ c. flour
  • 2½ tsp. baking powder
  • ½ c. sugar
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ c. shortening
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ c. milk
Instructions
  1. Mix topping ingredients and set aside. S
  2. et oven at 400 degrees, grease 9 x 9 inch pan.
  3. Mix shortening into dry ingredients.
  4. Mix milk and egg to dry ingredients until well moistened.
  5. Spread in pan.
  6. Sprinkle on topping.
  7. Bake 20-25 minutes.

Ingredients
  • ⅔ C. sugar
  • ¼ C. margarine
  • 1 Egg
  • ½ C. milk
  • 1½ C. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
Instructions
  1. Mix well and spread half of the dough in a 9 inch pie tin.
  2. Combine ½ C. brown sugar, 2 tbsp. sugar, 2 tbsp. melted butter, 2 tsp. cinnamon and ½ tsp. nutmeg to make a streusel.
  3. Cover the dough i the pan with apple slices and the streusel mixture.
  4. Top with remaining dough.
  5. Bake at 375 for 25-35 minutes.

Ingredients
  • 2 C. flour
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 2 C. carrots, shredded
  • 1 large apple, shredded
  • ½ C. nuts (optional)
  • ½ C. raisins
  • 1 C. oil
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
  1. Whisk all of the dry ingredients together.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix together.
  3. Bake in a muffin or cupcake tin at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
  4. Makes 18 muffins

Ingredients
  • 1½ C. water
  • 2 tbsp. yeast
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ C. shortening, melted and cooled
  • 4 C. flour
Instructions
  1. Grease pan and melt shortening.
  2. Combine water and yeast with 1 tsp. sugar.
  3. Add remaining sugar, eggs and salt to the yeast and beat.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  5. Cover and allow to raise in refrigerator overnight.
  6. An hour before cooking, roll out and cut into circles or triangles.
  7. Brush with butter, roll up and allow to rise.
  8. Bake at 400 for 5-10 minutes.
  9. Brush with butter after baking.

Ingredients
  • 3 bananas (Overripe works best)
  • ½ C. skim milk
  • ½ C. applesauce
  • 2 C. unbleached flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ C. brown sugar
  • ½ C. nonfat plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • ⅛ tsp. salt
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400
  2. Mix the wet ingredients together in one bowl and the dry in another.
  3. Combine all ingredients and mix well.
  4. Coat a 12 cup baking pan with cooking spray and divide the batter evenly into all 12 cups.
  5. Bake for 15 minutes and allow to rest for an additional 5 before removing from the tins.

  • ¾ Cube butter
  • 1 C. milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 C. flour
  • ¼ tsp. salt
Instructions
  1. Heat the oven to 450 degrees
  2. In a 9x13 pan, melt the butter in the oven.
  3. Combine remaining ingredients in a separate bowl.
  4. Once better is melted, pour the ingredient mixture in top and bake for 18 minutes.
  5. Top with your favorite toppings and Serve immediately.

Ingredients
  • 2 cans small biscuits
  • 1 c. orange juice
  • 1 c. sugar
  • ½ c. butter
Instructions
  1. Place two biscuits side by side in muffin pan.
  2. Bake according to directions on package.
  3. While the biscuits are baking, bring orange juice, sugar, and butter to a boil on the stove. Boil for about 10 minutes or until it starts to thicken slightly.
  4. As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, pour about ⅛ cup of orange juice mixture over the biscuits and serve.

Ingredients
  • 3 to 4 lg. potatoes, peeled and grated
  • ¼ c. minced onion
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • ⅓ tsp. baking powder
  • 2 egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 egg whites, beaten until stiff
Instructions
  1. Mix above ingredients in order given.
  2. Fold in egg white to batter.
  3. Fry mixture in oil about an inch deep.
  4. Drop batter from teaspoon.
  5. Fry to golden brown on both sides.

  • 1½ c. cornmeal
  • ½ c. flour
  • 1 tbsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tbsp. baking soda
  • 1½ tbsp. dehydrated onion flakes
  • ¼ cc cultured buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch of finely chopped dill
  • water

  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Spoon into a 375 degree hot oil pot, until they float and are a golden brown.
  3. For a more crunchy effect cook until dark brown.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 9 lg. eggs, slightly beaten
  • ¾ c. milk
  • ¼ c. melted butter
  • 24 oz. pkg. hash browns
  • 8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Layer sausage on bottom of well greased 9"x13" pan.
  3. Add milk and butter to beaten eggs and pour over sausage.
  4. Add hash browns and top with shredded cheese.
  5. Bake 1 hour.

Ingredients
  • 2 c. Bisquick
  • ⅔ c. milk
  • ½ c. grated cheddar cheese
  • ½ c. melted butter
  • ¼ tsp. garlic salt
Instructions
  1. Mix Bisquick, milk and cheddar until a soft ball forms.
  2. Beat vigorously for 30 seconds.
  3. Drop by balls onto an ungreased baking sheet and bake at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Mix butter and garlic and brush on rolls while still on the pan and hot.

 

Baked Grits and Cheese

Ingredients
  • 5 c. water
  • 1 c. regular grits
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ⅓ stick butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. Cheddar cheese cubes
  • ½ c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ⅔ c. milk
  • ½ tsp. hot pepper sauce
  • ½ tsp. black pepper
Instructions
  1. Bring water to boil. Stir in salt and grits.
  2. Lower heat to simmer; cook, covered, for 20 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat; stir in butter, slightly beaten eggs, milk, diced cheese, garlic, pepper, and hot sauce.
  3. Place in greased casserole and sprinkle with grated cheese.
  4. Bake, uncovered, at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.

  • 1 C. Sugar
  • 1 C. Shortening
  • 1 C. Light molasses
  • 1 C. sour milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 C. flour
  • tsp. allspice
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 C. raisins
  • C. nut
Instructions
  1. Cream together the first four ingredients. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  2. Store in refrigerator in a covered container.
  3. Bake as needed 20 minutes at 350
  4. Makes 4 doz.
  5. Batter will keep 4-5 weeks.

  • 2 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar

  1. Beat egg yolks and milk.
  2. Sift dry ingredients and beat until thick.
  3. Melt butter and add to batter.
  4. Fold in beaten egg whites.

Ingredients
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1¼ c. milk
Instructions
  1. Beat 1 egg. Stir in 2 cups corn meal, 1 teaspoon salt, 1¼ cups milk.
  2. Drop spoonfuls of batter onto a well-greased hot griddle and fry to a golden brown on each side.
  3. Stir batter occasionally to keep well mixed. Serve hot with butter.
