Ingredients
  • 4 c. flour
  • 4 sticks butter
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 c. milk
  • 6 tbsp. flour
  • ¼ stick butter
  • ¾ c. Crisco
  • 4 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
  1. c. flour
  2. sticks butter
  3. c. sour cream
  4. egg yolks
  5. Mix butter and flour together. Mix egg yolks in sour ream. Add flour mixture to egg mixture. Knead. Wrap and chill overnight. Roll dough to ⅛ inch thickness. Cut pieces of dough and wrap around 1x5 inch clothespin in foil. Place on ungreased sheet. Bake 375 degrees 7 minutes. Cool.

  9. /4 stick butter
  10. /4 c. Crisco
  11. c. powdered sugar
  12. tsp. vanilla
  13. Cook milk and flour until very thick like paste; chill. Mix butter, Crisco, powdered sugar and vanilla; mix with paste mixture. Fill each cookie and sprinkle cookies with powdered sugar. Keep refrigerated.

Ingredients
  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. instant coffee powder
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • ¼ c. milk
  • 2 c. chopped walnuts
  • Powdered sugar for garnish
  • Walnut halves for garnish
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, coffee powder, cinnamon and salt, beating until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. In small bowl, combine flours.
  3. On low speed, mix ½ of the flour mixture into the creamed mixture, then the milk, then the remaining flour.
  4. Add chopped walnuts, mixing just until distributed. Pour into well-greased and floured tube pan.
  5. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven 50 to 60 minutes or until pick inserted in center comes out clean.
  6. Cool and remove from pan.
  7. Place on a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Garnish with powdered sugar and walnuts.

Ingredients
  • 2-3 lg. cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • ½ c. or less olive oil
  • 2 c. diced Italian sausage, sauteed & fat drained
  • 1 med. onion, cut in half
  • 4 whole cloves, stuck into onion halves
  • 3 c. chicken stock
  • 3 c. water
  • 2 c. lentils, rinsed
  • 2 bay leaves
  • ½ tsp. finely chopped rosemary
  • Tabasco sauce to taste
Instructions
  1. In large saucepan, saute the garlic in the oil over medium heat.
  2. Add sausages, stock and water, onion halves, lentils, bay leaves and rosemary.
  3. Bring mixture to boil, then reduce heat, cover the pan and simmer the soup for 1 to 1½ hours, or until lentils are tender.
  4. Season with salt, pepper and Tabasco to taste.
  5. Remove bay leaves and rosemary and serve.
  6. Goes great with sour dough bread.

Ingredients
  • ½ c. oil
  • ¼ c. lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp. white wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp. grated lemon peel
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. pepper
  • ½ c. fresh chopped basil or 1 tbsp. dried
  • 2 whole boneless chickens
Instructions
  1. In small bowl, combine oil, lemon juice, vinegar, grated lemon peel, garlic, salt, pepper and basil. (Makes about 1 cup marinade.)
  2. Put chicken in shallow baking dish and cover with marinade. Marinate chicken, turning once, for 30 to 45 minutes.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to cook.
  4. Grill or broil chicken until lightly browned on the outside and just cooked through, (about 3 or 4 minutes per side).

Ingredients
  • 1½ pounds sausage
  • 6 slices bread, cubed
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 4 ounces mushroom pieces, drained
  • ¼ cup green bell pepper, diced
  • ¼ cup green onion, diced
Instructions
  1. Brown sausage and drain grease.
  2. Layer bread in bottom of 9 x 13-inch well-greased baking pan.
  3. Sprinkle sausage over bread.
  4. Add cheese.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine eggs and remaining ingredients.
  6. Pour slowly over cheese.
  7. Bake at 325 F. for 45 minutes.
  8. Recipe can be made the might before and refrigerated before cooking if desired.

  • 3 tbsp. cooking oil
  • C. salt
  • 1 tbsp. alum
  • 2 C. boiling water

  1. Boil Water and add oil, alum and food coloring.
  2. Stir in flour and salt.
  3. Knead well.
  4. Keep refrigerated in a plastic container to keep from drying out.

  • 1 square of margarine
  • 6 tbsp. Sugar
  • 2 C. scalded milk
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 2 eggs beater
  • 2 pk. Yeast in ½ cup warm water
  • 6-7 cups flour
Instructions
  1. Mix everything together and allow to rise for at least 1 hour.
  2. Roll out dough and cut with a biscuit cutter.
  3. Allow to raise for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  4. Brush tops of rolls with melted butter.
  5. Bake at 425 for 10-15 minutes

  • 1pk. Lemon cake mix
  • 8oz. crushed pineapple with juice
  • 1⅓ C. water
  • 1 Egg
  • C. oil
  • C. Sugar
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla Extract
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Pour pineapple with liquid into ungreased 13x9x2 pan and spread evenly.
  3. Pour dry cake mix on top of pineapple.
  4. Combine water and other ingredients in a separate bowl for 1 minute at medium speed.
  5. Pour liquid over dry mix – do not stir.
  6. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.

  • 1 C. corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  1. Combine sugar and syrup in a sauce pan and bring to full boil.

  3. Stir in peanut butter and vanilla and pour over popcorn.

  • C. water
  • C. shortening
  • 1 ½ C. sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • 3 C. whole wheat flour

  1. Boil raisins in water for two minutes.
  2. Add soda and set aside to cool.

  • 3 C/ chopped cold cooked potatoes
  • C. butter
  • 1 onion minced
  • 1 ½ C. chopped cooked cabbage

Instructions
  1. Crush potatoes slightly.
  2. Melt butter in a large skillet and lightly fry the onion.
  3. Mix in cabbage and potatoes and fry until both sides are a light brown.

  • 2 C. sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • C. white corn syrup
  • C. water
Instructions
  1. Mix sugar, syrup, and water in a medium sized sauce pan.
  2. Cook on high heat, stirring frequently until candy thermometer reaches 250 degrees F.
  3. While syrup mixture cooks, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  4. When syrup reaches 250F, pour slowly over egg whites beating constantly.
  5. Continue to beat the mixture until it holds its shape.
  6. Using a spoon, drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto waxed paper and allow to cool completely. You will need to work fast as this will begin to set up rather quickly.

  • 2 C. sugar

Ingredients
  • 4 C. sugar
  • 1 C. white corn syrup
  • 1 C. cold water
  • Oil Based Flavoring of your choice
Instructions
  1. Mix well and bring to a boil everything except the flavoring.
  2. Reduce heat to keep it boiling.
  3. Set candy thermometer in mixture and bring it to 300 degrees.
  4. Add two teaspoons flavoring and 2 drops of color.
  5. Mix well and pour onto cookie sheet that has been lined with foil and powdered lightly with powdered sugar.

  • 1 C. raw rice
  • 2 qt. Cold water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 ½ C. diced ham
  • C. butter
  • 1 tbs. onion
  • 1 ½ tsp. salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 eggs beaten (add eggs last)
Instructions
  1. Bring water to a rapid boil and reduce heat.
  2. Boil without stirring for about 12 minutes.
  3. Drain and cover add remaining ingredients (eggs last) and serve.
