Quick Cheese Bread

Ingredients
  • 2 C. flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. salt
  • ¼ C. margarine
  • 1 C. grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ C. sugar
  • 1 C. milk
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and salt.
  2. Cut in the margarine until the particles are the size of small peas.
  3. Stir in the cheese.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs until they are foamy.
  5. Beat in sugar then milk.
  6. Pour the egg mixture into the flour mixture, stir until evenly moistened.
  7. Transfer dough to a greased 9x5 loaf pan.
  8. Bake in oven at 350 for 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Serve hot or cold.

 

Grilled Ranch bread

  • ½ C. margarine, softened
  • 1 packet Ranch seasoning powder
  • 2 loaves of French bread
Instructions
  1. Mix margarine and ranch powder together and spread on French bread.
  2. Broil until crispy brown.

Ingredients
  • ½ C. Parmesan
  • ½ C. margarine
  • ¼ tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 loaf French bread, cut in half lengthwise
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients and spread on bread.
  2. Put on a cookie sheet and bake a 400 for 8-10 minutes.

Ingredients
  • 1½ C. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • 3 tbsp. shortening
  • ¾ C. milk
Instructions
  1. Sift dry ingredients together and cut in the shortening.
  2. Add the milk and mix well.
  3. Drop by spoonfuls onto chicken, meat or broth in boiling stock.
  4. Cook slowly for 10 minutes covered and 10 minutes uncovered.

 

Rhubarb Nut Bread

Ingredients
  • 1½ C. brown sugar, packed
  • ⅔ C. oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 C. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2½ C. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 C. diced rhubarb
  • 1 C. nuts
Instructions
  1. Combine sugar and oil.
  2. Add the egg, milk and vanilla.
  3. Beat well and stir in the dry ingredients.
  4. Fold in the Rhubarb and nuts.
  5. Pour into greased and floured loaf pans.
  6. Combine ½ C. sugar, 2 tbsp. margarine and 2 tsp. cinnamon to create a crumble topping.
  7. Sprinkle topping over dough and bake at 325 for 50-60 minutes or until done.

 

Indian Bread

Ingredients
  • 2 C. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • ¾ tsp. salt
  • 1 C. warm water
  • 1½ C. shortening for frying
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Roll out 6 inches in diameter.
  3. Fry in the grease until golden brown on both sides.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp. yeast
  • 6 C. flour
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • ¼ tsp. baking soda
  • 2 C. milk
  • ½ C. water
  • Cornmeal
Instructions
  1. Combine yeast, 3 C. flour, sugar, salt and baking soda.
  2. Heat milk and water until warm.
  3. Add milk and water to dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Add remaining flour to make a stiff batter.
  5. Spoon into two greased loaf pans that have been sprinkled with cornmeal.
  6. Cover and allow to rise for 45 minutes.
  7. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes or until done.

 

Zucchini Bread

  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 C. brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 C. oil
  • 2 C. grated zucchini
  • 3 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 C. flour
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • ¼ tsp. baking powder
  • ½ C. nuts (optional)
Instructions
  1. Combine all of the wet ingredients and slowly add dry ingredients.
  2. Mix well and pour into greased and floured bread pan.
  3. Bake at 375 for 60-75 minutes.

 

Pumpkin Spice Bread

Ingredients
  • 3 C. sugar
  • 1 C. vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 16 oz. can solid pack pumpkin
  • 3½ C. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp. ground cloves
  • ½ tsp. ground allspice
  • ½ C. water
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine the sugar, oil and eggs. Add the pumpkin and mix well.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix all of the dry ingredients together and mix well.
  3. Combine the dry and wet ingredients together and add in the water. Mix well!
  4. Pour mixture into two greased loaf pans and bake at 350 for 60-70 minutes or until done.
  5. Cool completely before turning out.

Ingredients
  • 2-3 c. of bread
  • milk
  • 2 eggs
  • ¾ c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
  1. Break up bread into crumbs and put in a large bowl.
  2. Add eggs, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla.
  3. Begin to mix in milk until you have a very thick cake-like batter.
  4. Spoon mixture into a well buttered 8 by 8 square pan and bake for about 30 minutes at 350°F degrees.
  5. When cool, cut into squares and serve.

Ingredients
  • 2 cans small biscuits
  • 1 c. orange juice
  • 1 c. sugar
  • ½ c. butter
Instructions
  1. Place two biscuits side by side in muffin pan.
  2. Bake according to directions on package.
  3. While the biscuits are baking, bring orange juice, sugar, and butter to a boil on the stove. Boil for about 10 minutes or until it starts to thicken slightly.
  4. As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, pour about ⅛ cup of orange juice mixture over the biscuits and serve.

  1. Mix all ingredients and chill until ready to use.

Ingredients
  • 2 c. Bisquick
  • ⅔ c. milk
  • ½ c. grated cheddar cheese
  • ½ c. melted butter
  • ¼ tsp. garlic salt
Instructions
  1. Mix Bisquick, milk and cheddar until a soft ball forms.
  2. Beat vigorously for 30 seconds.
  3. Drop by balls onto an ungreased baking sheet and bake at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Mix butter and garlic and brush on rolls while still on the pan and hot.

  • 1 c. flour
  • 3 tbsp. sugar
  • Dash of salt
  • ½ stick butte
Instructions
  1. Blend ingredients together.
  2. Stir in 6 tablespoons milk or as much as is needed.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

 

Banana Bread

  • ¾ c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 ripe bananas (Overripe works better)
Instructions
  1. In medium size bowl mix all ingredients andmix well. Add smashed bananas. Grease bread pan and put mixture in pan.
  2. Bake 1 hour in 325 degree oven.
