Ingredients
  • 1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding
  • 1⅓ c. buttermilk
  • 1 sm. container Cool Whip
  • 1 can fruit cocktail, drained
  • 1 can chunk pineapple, drained
  • 1 sm. can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 can cherries, drained
Instructions
  1. Mix pudding mix, buttermilk, and Cool Whip first then add fruit to mixture.
  2. Chill before serving.

Ingredients
  • Core and slice 4 fresh pears
  • Mix ½ cup butter,
  • 1 cup flour.
Instructions
  1. Mix butter and flour together and spread over pears in a shallow casserole dish.
  2. Sprinkle with nutmeg and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Ingredients
  • 4 c. flour
  • 1¾ c. shortening
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • ½ c. water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp. vinegar
Instructions
  1. Mix flour and shortening until evenly blended.
  2. Add sugar and salt. Mix in water, egg and vinegar.
  3. Mix together to form a ball.
  4. Chill before rolling.
Notes
The vinegar will make the crust become flaky, DO NOT LEAVE OUT.

Ingredients
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1½ c. flour
  • ⅓ c. cocoa
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 lg. pkg. marshmallows
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 4 eggs
  • ¼ tsp. salt
Instructions
  1. Cream sugar and shortening.
  2. Beat in eggs by hand. Sift flour, cocoa and salt together.
  3. Add to creamed mixture.
  4. Add vanilla and nuts.
  5. Pour into a greased and floured oblong cake pan.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes in 300 degree oven.
  7. Sprinkle cake with rows of marshmallows.
  8. Increase oven to 350 degrees and bake for 10 minutes longer.
  9. Cool cake completely before icing.
  10. Frosting:
  11. box powdered sugar
  12. stick butter, melted
  13. /4 c. milk
  14. /3 c. cocoa
  15. tsp. vanilla
  16. Sift powdered sugar and cocoa.
  17. Add melted butter, milk and vanilla.
  18. Stir in nuts and spread on cake.

 

Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp. milk
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
Instructions
  1. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla all together.
  2. Add egg. Beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in milk.
  4. Stir in sifted dry ingredients. Blend well.
  5. Divide dough in half. Chill 1 hour or more.
  6. Roll dough on floured board to about ⅛ inch thickness.
  7. Cut to desired shape.
  8. Bake on cookie sheet, in a 375 degree oven, for 8 minutes.
  9. ICING:
  10. c. sifted confectioner's sugar
  11. /4 c. milk
  12. /2 tsp. vanilla
  13. Dash of salt
  14. Combine all ingredients and mix well.
  15. Add food coloring if desired.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Place rounded tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
  3. Bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes.

  • 3 tbsp. frozen grape juice concentrate
  • 1 C. milk
Instructions
  1. Put juice and milk in blender and process until smooth.
  2. Add ice cream and blend on low until completely mixed.
  3. Serve immediately.

Ingredients
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cherry Jello
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. lemon Jello
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 3 oz. cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp. salad dressing
  • 1 c. un-drained crushed pineapple
  • 1 c. tiny marshmallows
  • 1 c. whipped cream
Instructions
  1. Dissolve 3 ounce package cherry Jello in 1 cup boiling water.
  2. Add pie filling.
  3. Chill in 4 to 6 cup ring mold or Bundt pan.
  4. Dissolve lemon Jello in hot water.
  5. Cool.
  6. Beat cream cheese and salad dressing.
  7. Stir in pineapple.
  8. Add marshmallows.
  9. Fold in whipped cream.
  10. Pour over 1st layer.
  11. Chill overnight.

Ingredients
  • 2 C. Sugar
  • 5 tbsp. Water
  • Lb. butter
  • 1 C. Almonds, Chopped (optional)
Instructions
  1. Using a heavy wide bottom pan, melt the butter and mix in the sugar.
  2. Cook on high, stirring constantly until mixture reached hard crack temperature (300).
  3. Pour on a buttered cookie sheet.
  4. Score the top a little bit and top with 1 C. chopped nuts if desired.

Ingredients
  • 1 package frozen dinner rolls
  • 1 package regular butterscotch pudding
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
  1. Grease Bundt pan. Sprinkle nuts on bottom.
  2. Arrange rolls over nuts.
  3. Sprinkle dry pudding over rolls.
  4. Mix sugar and melted butter together and pour (drizzle) over rolls.
  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  6. Cover with towel and let rise over night or at least 8 hours.
  7. Bake 350°F for 45 min to 1 hour.

Ingredients
  • 1¼ c. self-rising flour
  • ¼ c. sugar
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • Milk
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients and add milk to the consistency of a batter.
  2. Cut bananas into 1 inch pieces and chill in freezer.
  3. Dip bananas into batter and then deep fry in hot oil, about 1 minute.
  4. Drizzle with honey or chocolate syrup before serving.

Ingredients
  • 1 pkg. miniature marshmallows
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 pkg. (6 oz.) chocolate chips
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp. vanilla
  • ½ c. chopped nuts
  • 1 pkg. shredded coconut
  • 1 egg
Instructions
  1. Melt butter and chocolate chips and remove from heat to cool.
  2. When cool, add the beaten egg, vanilla, powdered sugar, nuts and marshmallows.
  3. Mix all ingredients well.
  4. Grease a square cake pan and sprinkle half of the coconut on bottom of pan.
  5. Spread chocolate mixture on coconut and smooth with spatula.
  6. Add rest of coconut on top.
  7. Refrigerate and when firm cut in squares and serve.
Notes
Do not store leftovers in the fridge or they turn to mush!

Ingredients
  • 2 pkgs. cream cheese
  • 1 roll refrigerated sugar cookie dough
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ½ c. sugar
  • Kiwi, strawberries, mandarin oranges, bananas, blue berries
Instructions
  1. Spread cookie dough over pizza pan.
  2. Cook the crust as directed on wrapper.
  3. In a bowl, microwave cream cheese until soft.
  4. Add vanilla and sugar.
  5. Spread cream cheese mixture on top of cooled cookie.
  6. Cut and lay fruit in circles.

 

Fried Bananas

Ingredients
  • 3 firm green tipped bananas
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • ¼ c. flour
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • Oil for frying
Instructions
  1. Peel and split the bananas lengthwise.
  2. Cut each in half and dip them in lemon juice.
  3. To make batter, mix remaining ingredients and mix well.
  4. Drop the banana halves into the batter one at a time.
  5. Pick up with a spoon and carefully lower into 1 inch of hot oil.
  6. Cook over medium heat, turning almost at once.
  7. Cook until brown on both sides.

 

Apple Fritters

Ingredients
  • 2 c. Bisquick
  • ⅔ c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 c. apples, finely chopped
  • Powdered sugar to sprinkle on apple fritters
Instructions
  1. Mix Bisquick, milk and egg until well blended.
  2. Stir in apples.
  3. Drop by small teaspoonfuls into deep hot fat (360-375 degrees).
  4. Turn and fry until golden brown on both sides.
