Ingredients
- ⅓ C. butter
- 2 C. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 C. milk
- 2-1/3 C. flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- ¼ tsp. salt
- 2 squares chocolate melted
- ¾ C. walnuts, chopped
- ½ tsp. vanilla
Instructions
- Cream butter and sugar together.
- Beat egg yolks (retain the whites) until thick and fluffy and add to butter and sugar mixture.
- Add melted chocolate.
- Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt and add to first mixture alternately with milk.
- Add nuts and vanilla and fold in the whites of eggs that have been beaten stiff.
- Turn into a well-greased tube pan and bake forty-five minutes in
- a moderate oven.
- Cool before frosting.
