Ingredients
- 2 cups raw peanuts
- ¼ cup water
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup white Karo syrup
Instructions
- Butter a cookie sheet and set aside.
- Mix water, sugar, peanuts, and syrup in a large sauce pan and bring to a boil.
- Cook on high heat until candy thermometer reaches hard crack stage (310°F). Remove from heat.
- Quickly stir in butter first and then add the baking soda and stir until dissolved.
- Pour the mixture on the buttered cookie sheet and allow to coll for at least an hour. Mixture will harden as it cools.
- Break into pieces and serve.
