Ingredients
- 1 C. butter
- ⅓ C. unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 C. water
- 2 C. all purpose flour
- 2 C. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- ½ tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- ½ C. buttermilk
- 1½ tsp. vanilla
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine the butter, cocoa powder and water.
- Bring to a boil, stirring constantly and remove from the heat.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
- Stir in the eggs, buttermilk and vanilla.
- Add the cocoa mixture and mix well.
- Pour into two greased 9x9x2 pans.
- Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
- Frost with buttermilk frosting.
- Makes 60 bars
