Ingredients
- 1½ Lb. round steak cut into 1 inch strips
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. pepper
- ¼ tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2½ C. beef broth
- ¼ tsp. Tabasco sauce
- 4 large carrots, sliced
Instructions
- Pound meat until thin.
- Blend cornstarch and spices and coat the meat in the cornstarch mixture.
- Brown meat in oil, add onion and cook an additional 5 minutes.
- Stir in broth, Tabasco and brown sugar and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and cover. Allow to simmer for 2 hours.
- Add sliced carrots 1 hour before cooking ends.
- Serve over hot rice.
