Swedish Meatballs

Ingredients
  • 1 C. bread crumbs
  • 1 C. milk
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ C. minced onion
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • ½ tsp. allspice
  • 1 C. milk
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • Flour
  • 2 cans consommé
Instructions
  1. Soak bread crumbs in 1 cup of milk.
  2. Mix pork, beef, eggs, bread crumbs and spices.
  3. Beat at a low speed and gradually add second cup of milk.
  4. Beat until smooth.
  5. Chill Thoroughly.
  6. Make into balls and drop onto waxed papper.
  7. Brown in oil.
  8. Cover all with consommé, cover and simmer 20 minutes.
